The latest study out today from Stroman Realty, Inc shows more diversity in closed sales for timeshares so far in 2009. The top names of the timeshare industry like Marriott, Westin, and Hilton Grand Vacation Club took 7 of the top 10 spots. Despite current economic trends, timeshares are still selling at a brisk rate – especially to those looking for a better deal than what the resort would offer.
The locations were evenly spread among Hawaii, Arizona, Florida, Nevada, and the Bahamas. Vacation destinations like Las Vegas, Maui, Orlando, and the Bahamas continue to draw strong attention from timeshare buyers and current owners.
The #1 best seller was Marriott’s Newport Coast Villas timeshare in Newport Coast, California. The 10,000 acre campus offers breathtaking views of the ocean and magnificent landscaping. It also offers an excellent deal for one of the ultimate luxury vacation spots on the west coast.
The #2 spot was taken by Westin Ka’anapali Ocean Resort Villas – Lahaina Maui, Hawaii. Westin resorts have long held a reputation of highest quality and great owner service. Combine all that with a tropical paradise like Maui and you have a sure winner!
Over the next week I’ll be highlighting the other eight resorts with insight and news about their sales. Timeshares are still selling here every day, without slowing down. I guess we all still need a vacation! And if you’re ready to sell your timeshare check out what they offer at www.timesharelink.com.

Wow…I would never think that Newport Beach could be more popular than Maui.
The Marriott Newport Beach has sold more, and it could be that the Maui resort is more popular. Maybe more Marriott owners are willing to sell their timeshare?
