Where do I start?
My first call was to the Marriott timeshare resort. They said they would help me, but they would charge a 40% commission. 40%!
In addition to the 40% commission I have no say in setting the price – they set the price for me. Basically, I’m put on the list and the Marriott timeshare buyers are matched up with sellers based upon who was on the list first. So, if there were 150 sellers on the list before me, I will have to wait one by one from number 1 until they get to me at number 151.
It’s my understanding that they don’t aggressively market MY timeshare. The only way someone knows MY timeshare is for sale is if someone visits the resort. The resort will not provide any advertising for me.

Good tip on going back to the resort for help on selling a Marriott timeshare. Marriott makes great resorts and picking up an affordable timeshare on the resale market would be smart to do. I actually rented a Marriott timeshare direct from the owner. After our stay at the Timber Lodge in Lake Tahoe I seriously considered owning there. If you’re trying for a sale, consider renting out while waiting for that buyer.
