This revelation is one in which timeshare resale agents and brokers all over the world would be proud to share with fellow salespeople. Imagine another agent calling you frantically needing to replace a seller and property for a Marriott timeshare buyer that is ready to sign the contracts. Unfortunately, the original timeshare seller had backed out for one reason or another and put the agent in quite a bind.
To make matters even more hectic–the Marriott Maui property had to be replaced that same day. So, the Stroman agent went to work immediately accommodating the other agent and trying to make the sale happen. She started calling out to registered Marriott’s Maui Ocean Club sellers to present the offer. After speaking with one seller, who declined the offer, she was fortunate to contact another right away. This particular Marriott Maui 1 bedroom owner was somewhat reluctant at first with the offer being presented. He initially declined, stating that he really needed more money in his pocket. After some further discussion, he asked “what about the Marriott Grand Chateau in Las Vegas?”
The agent was a little unsure about his question but proceeded to hash over her recent experience and knowledge of the Marriott Las Vegas resort. The seller explained his concern with the Marriott Maui 1 bedroom maintenance fees being somewhat high and expressed his interest in buying a 2 bedroom Marriott Chateau. This works better for him because the 2 bedroom’s annual maintenance in Las Vegas is about $200-$300 less per annum. Furthermore, the seller suggested he would be willing to accept the original offer on his Maui unit if our agent could get him the Las Vegas Marriott 2 bedroom for about the same price. Bingo! Within minutes the agent was able to reach a seller with a Marriott Grand Chateau who accepted his offer. So, within about 1 hour, we were able to satisfy the needs of 2 agents, 2 timeshare resale buyers, and 2 Marriott sellers. It makes you wonder how many other timeshare owners/sellers out there are interested in making this type of transaction. Obviously, Stroman and its agents would love to hear from you.
